These terms govern your use of www.thelokal.co.za and any related services. By accessing or using the site you agree to these terms.

1. General conditions
We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone for any reason at any time. You understand that your content (excluding payment information) may be transferred unencrypted over networks. By using the Site you confirm you are 18 years or older, especially where alcohol purchases are involved.

2. Products and pricing
All products and pricing are subject to change without notice. We may limit quantities or discontinue items at any time. Product appearance may vary slightly from images shown on the Site. Meat products are sold on average weights - actual weights may vary. See our Shipping Policy for details.

3. Orders, payment & minimums
Order confirmation does not guarantee acceptance. We reserve the right to cancel or refuse any order. Payments are processed securely through approved third-party providers.
•    Minimum order value: R700 for standard orders
•    Minimum order value: R1,000 for custom meat box pre-orders
•    Orders below these thresholds will not be processed

4. Delivery
Delivery is available within our core zone only (postal codes 2193, 2196, 2198). A flat R40 delivery fee applies. Orders must be placed by 11:30 am for same-day delivery between 15:00 and 18:00, Monday to Thursday. See our Shipping Policy for full details including missed delivery procedures.

5. Returns and refunds
Fresh and perishable products cannot be returned. Quality and weight concerns must be raised within 24 hours of delivery with supporting photos and order number. See our Refund Policy for full details.

6. Packaging
Products are delivered in standard in-store packaging. We do not use specialised courier boxes or cooler bags. Our delivery zone is kept deliberately short to ensure freshness without cold-chain packaging.

7. Accuracy of information
We make every effort to ensure information on the site is accurate but cannot guarantee completeness or timeliness. Use of the site is at your own risk.

8. Prohibited uses
You may not use the site for unlawful purposes, to infringe intellectual property, to harass or discriminate against others, or to upload malicious code. Violation may result in termination of access.

9. Intellectual property
All content on the site is owned or licensed by The Lokal and protected by law. You may not reproduce, distribute, or exploit any content without written permission.

10. Limitation of liability
We are not liable for indirect, incidental, punitive, or consequential damages. Our maximum liability will not exceed the amount paid for the specific purchase in question.
