1. Where does your meat come from?

We are farmers. Our meat comes from home - based in the Eastern Free State. Raised by our mother, whose lifelong craft shapes every cut.

Taste has a maker and ours is family.

2. What is Brangus?

Brangus is 3/8 Brahman and 5/8 Angus.

Angus for flavour. Brahman for resilience.

A premium breed designed to deliver consistently tender, well-marbled beef with a clean flavour profile.

4. Can I collect my order instead?

Absolutely. Select Click & Collect at checkout.

Bring your order confirmation and we'll pack it fresh when you arrive.

Free, seven days a week.

5. When do you get fresh meat deliveries?

We get meat deliveries from the farm weekly.

Usually on a Tuesday and Thursday.

6. Do you do special orders and meat boxes?

Yes - we do our best.

Special cuts and custom orders are available on request, subject to what the farm produces and what we have available at the time.

We'll always try to accommodate you but can't guarantee every cut every time.

Email connect@thelokal.co.za and we'll let you know what's possible.

7. Why should I visit The Lokal in person?

Because the store is designed to feel like a beautiful, welcoming farmhouse kitchen. A meat retail experience that is softer, warmer and more intuitive than a traditional butchery.

You’ll find fresh produce, deli items, pantry favourites, lifestyle pieces and a guided experience that’s built around human connection.

We want the store to feel like part of your weekly routine, a “pop in” on your way home.

9. Can I collaborate with The Lokal or supply products?

We’re always open to meeting new makers, growers and creatives.

If your work reflects care, patience and honest flavour, we’d love to connect.
